Description
Interpretation and re-construction as well as understanding electronic components in the make-up of an Improvised Explosives Device (IED).
Format and delivery
PowerPoint presentations, practical exercises in classroom. Projector and internet required.

Learning outcomes
Enable technicians in the interpretation, comprehension and reconstruction of sophisticated electronic circuits to include: application of Ohm’s Law, electronic schematic drawing and interpretation, various electronic components, electronic and mechanical switches, utilization of transistors MOSFETs, SCRs, x-ray identification of complex circuits, breadboard and soldering techniques, team exercises on complex IED circuity and encompassing various practical exercises, to name a few.
Eligibility and mandatory requirements
- This course is offered to qualified Police Explosives Technicians or Forensics Identification Specialists
- Acceptance or refusal in the course is at the discretion of the Canadian Police College
Assessment
One written and one practical exam.
